Excursion tip in winter: Jägersee lake in Kleinarl
In the bustling winter season, we hosts often have little time to catch our breath. However, if we want to clear our heads for a moment, we keep returning to the Jägersee in our neighboring community of Kleinarl.
The idyllic mountain lake is located at the end of the Kleinarl valley and can be reached from loj in about 25 minutes by car.
Trust us: the drive is worth it. There you will be greeted by a postcard panorama that seems almost too beautiful to be real: glittering snow, snow-covered mountains, and an emerald green, partially frozen lake. Pure winter idyll.
The walk around the lake begins right at the parking lot and is suitable even for regular clothing and winter shoes. The loop is short enough to enjoy it at a leisurely pace, but long enough to let the fresh air and the special atmosphere by the lake take effect.
We usually spend about half an hour there, depending on how long we stop to observe the swans at the lake. For us, that moment is when you forget everyday life and simply enjoy winter.
After the walk, we like to stop by the Gasthof Jägersee for a mulled wine in the cozy tavern or on the terrace right by the water.
And yes, if we were guests at Hotel loj, we would definitely take a dip in the sauna afterwards and comfortably end the day with a good glass of wine. In our case, we look forward to chatting with you in the evening about your excursion...
